History

The Inclusive Employer (formerly Inclusion@Work) Index in 2021 established a baseline of diversity and inclusion data for the Australian and New Zealand Space, Spatial and Surveying Industry. It was first identified as a key initiative by the ‘Thinking differently about differenceAction Plan, with eight industry partners working with Diversity Council Australia and Cultural Infusion to establish the research project.

The inaugural study saw over 1,000 people participate in survey over a six-week period from 16 August to 20 September 2021. The results were mapped in “Inclusion@Work report, which also provided a business case for inclusion in the workforce, and detailed the impact inclusive team can have on innovation, productivity, and staff retention.
